On Saturday 22 May 2021, Comune dei Popoli, in partnership with the Istituto Comprensivo Statale G. Falcone di Cassibile, the Municipality of Syracuse and other organisations active in the Syracuse area, helped to organise a day of activities for families and children of the primary school.

It was an opportunity to present to teachers and children’s families the project Comune dei Popoli, with its main targets, activities and services including the orientation and support desk for access to public services and the social protection desk. The activities planned for the event also included the presence of paediatrician Dr. Carlo Gilistro, who spoke to the families about the importance of reading to children.

In addition, a number of workshops were organised for families and three workstations for children. The first workshop was “Alleniamo il cuore” (“Let’s train our hearts”), a psycho-motor pathway for the well-being of mind and body, the second was “Cuore in allegria” (“Happy hearts”), in the company of clowns who took part in the event, and finally “Emozione al cuore” (“Emotion to the heart”), a moment dedicated to reading and telling stories.

At the end of the event, the association Clatù performed a juggling show appreciated by about 60 children and their parents.

Many hands and many hearts were involved to make this moment of encounter possible: Comune dei Popoli, Siracusa Città Educativa, Biblioteca Comunale di Cassibile, Associazione Leggimi una Storia, Carovana Clown Siracusa, Associazione Culturale Clatù and Istituto Comprensivo Falcone-Borsellino.
